Your Magic Brain Calculator is a technical instrument that solves your math problems with ease. It requires practice to achieve perfection. Practice makes perfect ... in a few weeks you will be doing your mathematical calculations as fast as adding machines many times the cost of this instrument. HOW TO CLEAR THE MACHINE . . Before solving any math problem, be sure your Calculator is clear (all 000,000.00 in total windows). This is done simply by pulling up the wire bar on top and pushing it back down. HOW TO ADD Addition is simple, but requires practice! Use the large black figures only, for your addition problems. Put the point of the stylus into the right-hand slot directly opposite the number you wish to add. If the indicated slot is RED ... pull DOWN ... If the slot is WHITE … push the stylus all the way UP, OVER and DOWN around the curve (unless this operation is performed properly, the figure will not carry over into the second window). Practice this many times with simple figures until you have mastered the technique. In some instances (when addition of numbers in the first column affects the motion of numbers in the third column), you will find that the stylus is stopped at the top and that you cannot complete the final OVER and DOWN motion. When this happens, put the stylus in number 1 of the next left column and move it UP, OVER and DOWN. HOW TO SUBTRACT First, clear the machine. Then put the number from which you wish to subtract into the machine, as done when adding (visible in the windows.) Then, to subtract you will start using the smaller numbers that appear in silver. These numbers are used for subtraction only. When the number you wish to subtract is across from a WHITE slot, push the stylus UP, but do not go around the curve. If the number you wish to subtract is across from a RED slot, then pull the stylus DOWN, UNDER and UP around the bottom curve. (This is exactly the opposite method you used for addition.) Practice makes perfect! In some instances, you will find that the stylus is stopped at the bottom and that you cannot complete the final UNDER and UP motion. When this happens, put the stylus in the slot opposite the small silver number 1 of the next left column and move it DOWN, UNDER and UP. HOW TO MULTIPLY Multiplication is similar to
addition because you simply multiply by adding. As an example: to
multiply 123 x 23 ... add 123 three times in columns 1, 2 & 3 from
the right-hand side and Twice in columns 2, 3 & 4.
AIDS DIVISION, TOO Your Calculator will be of help to you in dividing. Because division makes use of the other calculating forms, use this instrument to perform all adding, subtracting, and multiplication operations. Use a side tally on paper to keep track of your work.
